Ice Cold Citadel

Went down to the Landskrona Citadel this afternoon to take a few pics while the snow lasts. VERY cold but it certainly has a stark beauty with the harsh freeze of winter blanketing everything. I used a Nikon 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye AF-D mounted to the D850.

Morning Walk - Downtown Landskrona

I took a little morning walk around the center of Landskrona this morning to photograph the Christmas lights just before sunrise. Turned out quite well. Mostly I used the 50mm f1.8 at f8.0 but the shot of the old Town Hall was with my 24-120mm at 24mm & f8.0 just so that I could get it all in.

Landskrona Citadell Christmas 2023

Landskrona Citadell looking a bit Christmassy... had to get some photographs of course. 😎

Moonrise over Borstahusen

I tried to photograph the sunset over Denmark from Borstahusen yesterday but the sunset failed miserably to produce anything other than grey haze... however when I turned around and saw the moonrise in the opposite direction I was right chuffed!

Nikon D850, 70-300mm lens @ 170mm, hand held and edited in DXO PL 6.

Landskrona Harbour Area Photo Walkabout

While I was photographing the church and town hall I also took a little walk around the area, so these are some of the other random pics I got on my evening walkabout. Everything looks good when photographed in the right light.

Landskrona Stadshuset (Town Hall)

The town hall in Landskrona is a fairly modern looking building from the mid 70's that just looks a bit out of place (at least to me) amongst the rest of the much older buildings surrounding it down at the harbour area. However on its own it is quite a nice looking design and of course it does look great at sunset and at night when it's lit up.

As in the previous post these were taken hand held with my D850 & 24-120mm VR combination, edited in the excellent DXO PL 6 software.

Sofia Albertina Church - Landskrona

Really beautiful old church in the heart of Landskrona Sweden, worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Taken with my Nikon D850 and 24-120mm lens, ISO 8000, low shutter speeds & hand held, VR on, first two at f8.0 and the last at f5.6, processed in DXO PL 6 and their excellent DeepPRIME XD software.

Landskrona Energi Building

The rather eye-catching Landskrona Energi building photographed at night with my Nikon D750 and the very handy 24-120mm lens, handheld at 24mm, iso3200, 1/200s, f5.6 and -1ev. The photo is clean, sharp and has great colour & contrast. Certainly a very capable camera and lens combination.

Cathedral in Lund, Southern Sweden

Used my Nikon D850 & 24-120mm f4 combo in the cathedral in the city of Lund in Southern Sweden. The conditions inside the cathedral itself was typically quite dim but down in the crypt it was quite dark with very subtle artificial lights and natural light from some small windows. I set the camera to aperture priority f8, auto iso between 65 and 4000, RAW format as always and shot these all hand held. The camera predictably chose iso 4000 in pretty much all of these photos. I then ran them quickly through DXO Photolab 4 to work it's magic and exported to jpg format. None of these has been colour corrected or sharpened or had the exposure adjusted aside from whatever standard tweaks DXO PL 4 does when processing the RAW files.

Glimmingehus in Southern Sweden

Sunday family outing to Glimmingehus, a medieval era castle located in southern Sweden, built in 1499-1506. Took my Nikon D850 with the wonderful Nikon 24-120mm f4 kit lens that outperforms it's price-point by some margin. All photos were taken hand held, I had the auto iso set to choose between 64 and 4000 and outside it chose 64 and inside it was mostly 4000 with the VR of the lens taking the slower shots in stride without missing a step. I am very happy with sharpness, colour contrast and the clean pics at higher iso's.

Landskrona Stadshuset (cityhall)

One more from my walk Friday evening with my camera and the fantastic Nikon 50mm f1.8G lens. I put that lens on my camera about a year ago and I like it so much I haven't bothered to remove it. It's a lot more versatile than one would imagine and the image quality is simply wonderful!
